Introduction

There are many types of ultraviolet absorbers, among which benzone ultraviolet absorbers are widely used and have great practical research value. Avobenzone belongs to benzone UV absorbers and is also an important organic synthesis intermediate.

Function

UVA protection: Avobenzone can absorb ultraviolet rays of UVA I, UVA II, and UVB wavelengths, thereby limiting the impact of ultraviolet rays on the skin. Especially, it can absorb UVA in all wavelength bands (approximately 315 to 400 nanometers), with the highest absorption rate for UVA at a wavelength of 357 nanometers.

Light stability: Avobenzone may be unstable under sunlight, but through a reasonable formulation strategy, its light stability can be improved and its absorption capacity in sunscreen films can be maintained.

Broad spectrum protection: Avobenzone provides true broad-spectrum protection, capable of withstanding UVA wavelengths greater than 360 nanometers.

Synergistic effect with other ingredients: Avobenzone can be used in combination with other sunscreen ingredients such as zinc oxide (ZnO) and titanium dioxide (TiO2) to provide a more comprehensive sun protection effect.
